F2F and Zoom meeting 2-11-2021
Commodore Michael opened the meeting with a waver of the reading of the minutes. He gave a brief committee report, consisting primarily of events on the schedule.
Fleet Captain Tonya reported the race results. She reported that two races had been executed to date. The ongoing frost bite series successfully completes two races in the upper 50's with mild winds. The previous Saturday marked frost bite 3. The A fleet winner was Andi Kohler. The B fleet winners, Tim and Kim won the day, and Susanne placed second. Frost bite 4 is scheduled for Saturday 2-20-2021.
Purser Ardythe reported a balance of $ 792.82. Receipts are 250 for dues, 25 race fees, and an additional electronic receipt of 100$ in dues.
Vice Commodore Renae introduced two new members Brian who was a member 15 years ago, and Chris. Welcome new members !!!! There was a discussion if the meeting should return to Thursdays, it was decided to investigate that and update on it next month.
Mike mentioned that picnics will change to raft ups, everyone must bring their own food, no sharing, for safety.
the March 13 picnic however will be at the picnic point at harbor town but everyone must bring their own food. No host, no sharing.
New Business:
A second request for a dinner at AYC was requested, Brad will see if a second dinner can be added to the AYC schedule, and Mike will try to fit it into the SWSC calendar.
Renae asked about Business Cards they would be good for new members. They should have the website information, and contact information.
In addition, she mentioned that Harbor Town was again raising slip fees, however no improvements are made, and some of the docks are in terrible unsafe shape. There was mention that possibly the docks would be replaced with non wood planks as at the new fuel dock. But this information could not be substantiated.
